A full list of the nursery staff team is made available to parents in our parent welcome pack on joining the nursery.

With regard to staffing, we adhere strictly to regulatory guidelines. In addition, we provide extra cover for staff holidays and daily breaks.

The Regulatory guidelines are as follows:

Ages 0 – 2 years 1:3

Ages 2 – 3 years 1:4

Ages 3 – 5 years 1:8


We recognise that we are only as good as the people who work for us, therefore, we have a very thorough recruitment and training policy.  All staff are DBS checked and vetted.  In addition, as a nursery, it is our policy to employ staff with a minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare. In the event that a suitable Level 3 candidate is not available, we will employ an exceptional Level 2 candidate, with the proviso that they continue training to reach Level 3 as soon as possible.


As good practice dictates, we operate a ‘key person’ or ‘key worker’ system.  Although all staff in the individual rooms work with all the children, key staff take responsibility for monitoring and assessing specific groups of children, completing their individual profiles and sharing these with parents/carers.


Myra has just returned from an International Study week in Reggio Emilia in Italy and as a result we now work towards the principles of Reggio Children, providing a child-centred approach in everything that we plan and do.
